Vandalia Health expands real-time ER wait times across northern region

Vandalia Health has expanded access to real-time emergency room (ER) wait times throughout its northern region with the recent launch of the website feature for Webster Memorial Hospital in Webster Springs and Broaddus Hospital in Philippi. This enhancement builds on the tool’s successful rollout earlier this year for Davis Medical Center in Elkins. Introduced at Mon Medical Center in Morgantown in 2020, Vandalia Health is the first and only health system in West Virginia to offer this online tool for patients, enhancing efficiency and reduce uncertainty about visiting the ER.

"This technology is another step toward improving how we serve our communities,” said Christopher Edwards, Emergency Services Director of Vandalia Health-Northern Region and Chief Administrative Officer for Mon Marion and Mon Harrison Neighborhood Hospitals. “It helps patients make informed choices and allows our hospitals to manage care delivery more efficiently across the region."

Other Vandalia Health facilities offering this feature are Mon Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, Mon Marion Neighborhood Hospital in White Hall, and Mon Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston.

The real-time ER wait time feature offers patients greater transparency and convenience by displaying estimated wait times on each hospital’s website, and, in some locations, on local digital billboards. These estimates reflect the average time it takes to see an ER health care provider and are updated regularly to ensure accuracy.
