Progressing Through Postpartum (P3) Program

1 in 5 mothers and one in 10 partners will experience a perinatal mood disorder such as depression and anxiety during pregnancy and up to a year after giving birth. Care teams at Mon Health Obstetrics and Gynecology are combating these statistics by offering postpartum support services to new families.

The Progressing Through Postpartum (P3) Program is a full-service virtual outreach program based at your Mon Health OB/GYN clinic. Our team of experts provide new obstetric education (even if it's not your first baby), pre-delivery feeding education, childbirth education and follow-up in person consultations. We also offer warm hand off referrals for any specialized care you may need. Lots of moms have mood changes related to pregnancy and post-partum hormone changes.

We are here to support you throughout pregnancy and your whole first year of post-partum. We are a text away. For our text information and more, click HERE.

What are some symptoms of mood changes?

  • Sadness, anger, exhaustion, nervousness, and feeling out of control or overwhelmed
  • Difficulty sleeping or eating
  • Fears or scary thoughts that don't go away
  • Feeling anxious or insecure, and nervous about being alone

Does this sound familiar to you or a loved one? We're here to help.

  • Services we provide:
  • In Person Feeding Support
  • Getting you connected to Community Resources

Jennifer Bender, RN-C, IBCLC

Perinatal Nurse Navigator | Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant
Text or Call: (304) 282-8511
Email: Jennifer.Bender@VandaliaHealth.org

Jennifer has worked in Obstetrics for over 20 years as a labor delivery nurse and lactation consultant.  Jennifer moved to the Nurse Navigator role in 2020 and started the P3 Program.
Drawing from her experience she followed a proactive outreach approach to check in with families rather than waiting for them to reach out.
She offers in person or virtual pre delivery lactation consultations.  She can also schedule follow up consultations after your baby arrives.  She takes over outreach after the baby arrives and through the entire postpartum year no matter how you plan to feed your baby.  She can answer feeding, new baby and postpartum questions and concerns.  We know no matter how many babies you have checking on your mood and the mood of others in your household is important.
