A nationally recognized urology team known for bringing advanced treatments and innovative technology to West Virginia is returning to a newly renovated space at Vandalia Health Mon Medical Center.
Vandalia Health Urology is welcoming patients back to its renovated location on the fourth floor of Mon Medical Center at 1200 J.D. Anderson Drive in Morgantown. The practice includes urologists Jaschar Shakuri-Rad, DO, FACOS; John Battin, MD; and David Hall, MD.
The newly renovated and expanded Vandalia Health Urology office was designed with the needs of patients in mind, providing a more efficient and convenient experience from arrival through treatment. Additional exam rooms and state-of-the-art procedure suites allow the practice to accommodate more patients, streamline office visits, improve privacy and comfort and reduce scheduling bottlenecks and delays in care.
The expansion was also strategically designed to accommodate emerging technologies and new treatments as they become available. The forward-looking investment will allow Vandalia Health Urology to continue expanding advanced services and providing patients throughout the region with access to innovative, comprehensive urologic care.
“We are proud to invest in a space that reflects the exceptional level of care this team provides to our patients every day,” said Krystal Atkinson, DNP, RN, CNOR, Chief Administrative Officer, Vandalia Health Mon Medical Center, and Senior Vice President, Vandalia Health. “Our urology team has built an outstanding program by combining clinical expertise with a commitment to innovation and personalized care. These renovations demonstrate our continued investment in their work and in ensuring patients across our region have access to advanced specialty care close to home.”
“Returning to our newly renovated space at Mon Medical Center represents another step forward for our urology program that continues to grow and evolve,” said Dr. Shakuri-Rad. “As our program continues to grow, we remain focused on bringing new technologies and treatment options to our patients while providing the personalized, quality care they have come to expect from our team.”
Vandalia Health Urology provides comprehensive care for a wide range of urologic conditions, including urologic cancers, kidney and urinary tract stones, benign prostate conditions, men’s health concerns, urinary incontinence and other conditions affecting the urinary tract. The program offers advanced diagnostics and minimally invasive treatment options for both common and complex urologic conditions.
The return comes as Mon Medical Center’s urology program continues to expand its clinical capabilities and earn national recognition. Mon Medical Center was named among the top 10% in the nation for outpatient prostate care and received the 2026 Healthgrades Outpatient Prostate Care Excellence Award, making it the only hospital in West Virginia to receive the distinction.
The program also continues to expand access to advanced diagnostic and treatment options. Earlier this year, Mon Medical Center introduced the Glean Wireless Urodynamics BrightUro system, an innovative technology that provides a wireless, catheter-free approach to evaluating bladder and urinary conditions. The technology allows patients to move more naturally during testing while providing physicians with data about bladder function.
The addition of BrightUro builds on a history of urologic innovation at Mon Medical Center. The hospital has introduced a number of advanced treatment options to the region, including West Virginia’s first urologic single-port robotic procedure and the state’s first use of the Optilume BPH Catheter System for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, or enlarged prostate. Mon Medical Center has continued to expand its single-port robotic capabilities, including establishing the region’s first dual single-port flip room in 2025, which supports advanced minimally invasive procedures across multiple surgical specialties, including urology.
“Our entire team is excited to welcome patients back to our newly renovated space,” said Wilda Riley, Clinic Manager, Vandalia Health Urology. “We know the environment where patients receive care is an important part of their experience, and we look forward to welcoming them into a space that is comfortable, updated and designed with their needs in mind.”
Patients with upcoming appointments will now visit Vandalia Health Urology on the fourth floor of Mon Medical Center.
