Mon Health System Launches Virtual Yoga for Staff and Their Families

Posted Date: 4/27/2020

To thank Mon Health System employees for their tireless efforts and dedication to the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Mon Health System President & CEO, David Goldberg, and his wife, Noel Goldberg, are inviting staff members and their children to participate in a complimentary four week introductory virtual series to yoga.

At Mon Health System, the safety and well-being of patients, the community and employees is a top priority. In order to continue to deliver best-in-class care, Mon Health recognizes the importance of both the physical and mental health of its teams, especially during these unprecedented times. The virtual yoga sessions offered are not only to thank employees, but also ensure employees have the necessary tools to reduce stress and promote health.

Virtual yoga hosted by the Goldbergs will begin on April 29 and take place each Wednesday through May 19. Two sessions will be offered to all employees across Mon Health System: a family playtime session for children and another just for adults. Those participating will even be entered a drawing to win a gift card to Kindred Spirits Yoga, which was donated by The Ed Boyle Family to support world class first responders and need for local business.

“We are extremely thankful for the overwhelming support from our local community members,” said David Goldberg, Mon Health System President & CEO. “Whether it is a donated meal, handsewn mask, or child’s artwork showing thanks to our healthcare heroes, Mon Health continues to receive encouragement and appreciation for our teams each day. We wanted to expand on that ourselves by offering this yoga series to show how proud and grateful we are for our staff and their families. There's a reason why Mon Health is the most trusted healthcare provider in our community. We've worked together to manage COVID-19. Now, together, we will get back to work keeping our community healthy and thriving.”

Staying healthy means more than washing your hands and social distancing, but also, stimulating and strengthening your mental health. Keeping employees engaged and healthy is crucial to Goldberg. This yoga series is one step toward keeping both body and mind healthy, other recommended practices include eating a nutritious meal, getting plenty of sleep, and taking the time to connect and interact with friends and loved ones through virtual meeting platforms or a simple phone call.
