Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Hosts Snake Chase

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital held its Snake Chase 5K as a part of the annual Irish Spring Festival in Ireland, WV.

Racers gathered on March 17 at the Irish Community Building. Top runners in the men’s division were Eliott Crislip running a 27:27, Skylar Cole with a 29:16, and Izaac Crislip with a 31:32. Top runners in the women’s division were Carly Singleton running a 42:20, Danielle Martin with a 44:19, and Nikki Shay with a 45:00.

“The Snake Chase 5K is always one community members enjoy,” said Kevin Stalnaker, Chief Administrative Officer at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. “As we continue to host our race series, our goal is to promote healthy living and provide opportunities for people to get involved locally. This not only keeps us connected to our community but allows us to further our mission of enhancing the health of the communities we serve.”

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital’s 5K Race Series will hold just two other races through the beginning of summer, including:

Saturday, April 20 – American Cancer Society Color Run, register by calling Carmen Hathaway at 304-482-4657.
Saturday, June 15, 2024 – 14th Annual Weston 5K. Participants can register at webscorer.com/register?raceid=328016.

The Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital’s effort to encourage healthy eating and physical fitness is based on the hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment. After four completed assessments, obesity remains one of the top issues facing the community.
