Mon Health, Mylan Park Partner for Free Movie Series and Swim Programs

Posted Date: 6/25/2020
Mon Health System and Mylan Park have partnered together to provide free community programs this summer, including an outdoor movie series and trial swim lessons.

The partnership will provide a free summer movie series named Movies Among the Mountains. Mylan Park will be showing three movies throughout the summer at the outdoor track and field complex. The dates of the movies are Saturday, July 11, with the showing of Sonic the Hedgehog, Saturday, July 25 with the showing of The Lion King (2019 version), and Saturday, Aug. 8, with the showing of Trolls World Tour. All movies will be free, open to the public, and start at 7:30 p.m. While outside, guests are reminded of social distancing and mask wearing during the event.

Concessions will be available. Guests are prohibited from bringing outside food and beverages, and no coolers are permitted. Guests should bring their own seating or blankets for each movie.

Mylan Park will also be offering free trial swim lessons, sponsored by Mon Health System, called Mon Swim Stars. The lessons are open to children who have not participated in the program before. Mon Swim Stars will orient parents and children to the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park’s swim lesson program in preparation for lifelong skill building and wellbeing through swimming and water safety. Families should pre-register at mylanpark.org and can select a Wednesday evening or Saturday morning trial class. Registration will be open year-round beginning in early July.

“We are thrilled to partner with Mon Health System on these exciting new programs” said Keith Hernstrom, General Manager and Executive Director of Mylan Park. “Mon Health is a community leader focused on enhancing the health of the area. By sponsoring these programs, Mon Health provides a healthy, safe environment for families to grow.”

Both programs will comply with the current CDC and local COVID-19 guidelines. Guests at Mylan Park are required to wear masks upon entry to all indoor facilities.

“Partnering with Mylan Park to provide these free programs to families in the area is an extension of Mon Health System’s mission to enhance the health of the communities we serve,” said David Goldberg, President and CEO of Mon Health System. “We look forward to working with Mylan Park to bring needed programs to the area.”
