Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary Hosts Annual Trees to Go Fundraiser to Benefit Patient Care

The Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary contributes to the community’s health by raising money for the hospital for various patient needs. The Auxiliary is made up of members that work to support projects and provide improvements for the patients, families, and staff of Mon Health Medical Center.
The Trees to Go Fundraiser began in 2012 and was spearheaded by Kathy Pompili, who has been a member of the Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary for 29 years. Since then, the fundraiser has become the third largest fundraiser of the Auxiliary. Each year, the Mon Health Medical Center lobby is dressed with festive spirit as local community members donate pre-decorated trees of all design that are raffled off through ticket sales.
The Trees to Go Fundraiser won the 2018 Best Hospital Fundraiser Award by the Auxiliary of West Virginia Hospital Association. Patients, staff, and visitors can purchase tickets in the Mon Health Medical Center Gift Shop to enter to win these beautifully decorated Christmas trees.
“It is such a joy to see the excitement from patients, staff, and visitors when they come into the hospital and are surprised by the trees in the lobby,” Kathy.
The ticket drawing for the fundraiser will be held in the main lobby at Mon Health Medical Center on November 17 at Noon. Winners that are not present at the drawing will be contacted to pick up their tree.
“All fundraising efforts by the Auxiliary go to benefit patients and their care,” Chris Battin, Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary Board President. “We look forward to the Trees to Go Fundraiser each year because it not only brings some festive cheer to the hospital, but it provides an opportunity for us to better serve our patients.”
