Mon Health Launches New Branding and Visual Identity

Posted Date: 5/10/2017

Mon Health System has unveiled its new name - Mon Health – along with a new design system reflecting the growth and development of the venerable Morgantown-based health care organization.

Mon Health is comprised of two hospitals, Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown and Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood. A third hospital, Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, is expected to join the system later this summer following the due diligence process presently underway.

Mon Health Centers of Excellence include the Heart & Vascular Center, Cancer Center, Orthopedic Care, Family Birth Center and Center for Outpatient Surgery. The system includes more than 30 ambulatory clinics throughout North Central West Virginia. Affiliates include Mon Health Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Mon Health Equipment & Supplies, Fairmont Home Medical and the Village at Heritage Point senior living community.

Every affiliate and clinic, no matter the location, will use the Mon Health brand identity.  The new design system provides updated logos for the hospitals, affiliates and clinics. It is based on a vibrant green color scheme, evoking growth, vitality and renewal.

“With the single, consistent Mon Health branding, we are able to communicate our commitment to the communities we serve and the quality of the care we provide. Our patients will know that wherever the Mon Health brand is used, they can trust the care provided and expect a remarkable experience,” said Mon Health President and CEO Darryl Duncan.

The rebranding process will evolve over time. For the next few months, patients at all Mon Health locations will start to see new signage, printed materials, vehicle wraps and a new website.

The rebrand initiative comes as a result of the health system’s unprecedented growth over the past few years.

“We know that our patients want their health care to be convenient and affordable. They shouldn’t have to drive to Morgantown to see our clinicians,” said Duncan.

Expanded Services and Geographic Footprint

The Mon Health Cancer Center recently opened its Radiation therapy service. The $7-million radiation oncology unit includes the newest, most advanced linear accelerator in the region. It’s part of an overall renovation of the Mon Health Cancer Center, including new clinic rooms and offices. With the addition of radiation therapy, the three main cancer treatment modalities are all available at the Cancer Center.

Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital joined the system in 2014. This paved the way for Mon Health specialty providers, such as cardiology, pulmonary and infectious disease among others, to be available on campus in Kingwood to serve the patients who live in Kingwood and the surrounding areas. Other Preston Memorial Hospital services include a MBSAQIP Accredited Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Primary Care, Urgent Care, General Surgery, a Heartburn Center, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy and Aquatic Therapy.

Mon Health is seeking property in Fairmont for a new medical office building which will house Primary Care clinics and other healthcare services.

Mon Health recently purchased property in Elkins for the construction of a new Heart & Vascular Center. The health system has provided cardiac care at their Main Street clinic in Elkins since 1994. The new building will provide cardiology and electrophysiology services, as well as diagnostic testing and cardiac rehabilitation.

The Morgantown campus has grown beyond the hospital walls to include the Mon Health Medical Park, a three-building complex housing several clinics including Pulmonology, Surgical Care, Cardiology, Cardiac Rehab, Digestive Care, Dermatology, Vein Care, Wound Care and Primary Care. A pain clinic and kidney dialysis clinic are also slated to locate in Mon Health Medical Park. Mon Health played an instrumental role in upgrading Maple Drive providing improved access to the complex.

Also located in the Mon Health Medical Park is the Center for Outpatient Surgery which opened early 2017. The center provides same-day and ambulatory surgery procedures, negating the need for an overnight hospital stay.

Mon Health Primary Care services increased significantly this year with the addition of Wedgewood Family Practice. Newly named Mon Health Wedgewood Primary Care, it is the largest Primary Care practice in the Morgantown area. The Cheat Lake and Westover clinics will continue to operate in those locations, while the Suncrest clinic will move later this year to the Mon Health Medical Park.

Additionally, Mon Health is now providing healthcare to rural regions via Telemedicine services. The service connects highly-trained medical professionals by computer with seven rural access sites in central and eastern West Virginia.
