Mon Health Gathers Thousands of Hygiene Items to Donate to Local Students

Posted Date: 8/19/2020

Mon Health Medical Center employees have come together to collect thousands of hygiene products to be included in bags donated to local children in Monongalia County Schools as part of an annual partnership with Pantry Plus More.

Donations include, but are not limited to, body wash, soap, shampoo, conditioner, detergent pods, hairbrushes, deodorant, tissues, toothbrushes and toothpaste, as well as feminine hygiene products.

“As a community, we must do all that we can to give kids an opportunity to thrive,” said Tom Bloom, Executive Director of Pantry Plus More and Monongalia County Commissioner. “Through this partnership with Mon Health, we are able to provide children and families with necessary hygiene products to live a healthier life and feel confident in themselves when preparing to go back to school this fall.”

Items collected by Mon Health Medical Center staff will be distributed at the 2020 Back to School Bash hosted by Pantry Plus More at the Mountaineer Mall. The event will take place on Saturday, August 22 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

“At Mon Health, we are committed to the communities in which we serve,” said Mark Gilliam, Mon Health Medical Center Chief Administrative Officer. “We are proud to partner with like-minded organizations like Pantry Plus More, to provide families with the necessary tools to stay healthy this school season. This is an event we look forward to every year and encourage others to get involved to support such a great cause.”
