Vandalia Health Mon Medical Center proudly announces the appointment of Christine S. Daniels, MBA, MSN, RN, NE-BC, as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Daniels brings more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing practice and health care operations.

Daniels has served Mon Medical Center since 2023, most recently as Associate Chief Nursing Officer, where she provided oversight for inpatient nursing units, the Emergency Department, Nursing Administrative Services and several specialty teams. Under her leadership, Mon Medical Center achieved the prestigious Pathway to Excellence Designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) earlier this year.

“Christine has been instrumental in building a culture where our nurses feel empowered, supported and valued,” said Krystal Atkinson, DNP, RN, CNOR, Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Medical Center and Chief Nursing Executive of Vandalia Health-Northern Region. “Her leadership was central to Mon Medical Center’s achievement of the Pathway to Excellence designation this year. Christine continually demonstrates not only her commitment to the exceptional care of our patients, but also her dedication to our nurses — ensuring they have the resources, respect and environment they need to thrive.”

Prior to joining Vandalia Health, Daniels served as Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg. She played a pivotal role in advancing nursing services and organizational change and has long been a champion for shared governance, specialty certifications, and evidence-based practice. Throughout her career, Daniels has been recognized for her commitment to advancing nursing practice, improving patient outcomes and mentoring future leaders. She is board certified as a Nurse Executive and completed the American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL) Fellowship by ANCC.

“I’m honored to serve as Chief Nursing Officer at Mon Medical Center,” Daniels said. “It is a privilege to work alongside such a positive team of nurses, physicians and staff who are committed to providing quality care to our patients and community. I look forward to building on our achievements and continuing to support our nursing culture of excellence, compassion and collaboration.”

Daniels earned a Master of Science in Nursing in Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Waynesburg University, Waynesburg, Pa.; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wheeling Jesuit University, Wheeling; and an Associate of Science in Nursing from West Virginia Northern Community College, Wheeling.
