Cardiologists join Mon Health Heart & Vascular Center team

Mon Health recently added four new cardiologists to its Heart & Vascular Center team.

Robert Hull, MD
, Bradford Warden, MD, Wissam Gharib, MD, and Samantha Crites, DO, are now accepting patients.

They join six other cardiologists at the Mon Health Heart & Vascular Center: Paul Alappat, MD; Kishore Bingi, MD; Michael Englund, DO; Morgan Lyons, MD; Michael O'Keefe, MD; and Richard Smith, MD. The center also includes cardiothoracic surgeons Fawad Khan, MD; Jay Kim, MD; and Alexander Nagy, MD.

Robert Hull, MD, FACC

Dr. Hull has been appointed the director of electrophysiology for the Mon Health Heart & Vascular Center. He is a board-certified electrophysiologist (a cardiologist who specializes in arrhythmias) with 26 years experience.

Dr. Hull previously served as the director of electrophysiology at the WVU Heart Institute and vice chief of staff and associate professor of medicine, division of cardiology, for WVU School of Medicine.

After earning his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga., the Randolph County native completed an internal medicine residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colo., where he also served as chief resident, and a combined cardiology/electrophysiology fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Hull specializes in heart rhythm abnormalities, sudden death and heart failure. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Bradford Warden, MD, FACC, FSCAI

Dr. Warden has been appointed the executive director of the Mon Health heart & Vascular Center and chief of cardiology. He is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with 18 years of experience.

He previously served as director of the WVU Heart Institute, as well as the director of the cardiac rehabilitation program and interventional cardiology fellowship program at WVU School of Medicine.

Dr. Warden, a Morgantown native, earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in internal medicine and a cardiovascular fellowship.

Dr. Warden specializes in coronary disease, peripheral vascular disease and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions.

Wissam Gharib, MD, FACC, FSCAI

Dr. Gharib has been appointed the director of the catheterization lab at Mon Health Heart & Vascular Center. He is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with 13 years of experience. He previously served as the director of cardiac catheterization labs at the WVU Heart Institute and associate professor of medicine, section of cardiology, at WVU School of Medicine.

Dr. Gharib, who grew up in Charleston, earned his medical degree at WVU School of Medicine, followed by a residency in internal medicine and fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology.

He specializes in all forms of structural heart disease and peripheral vascular disease. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention.

Samantha Crites, DO

Dr. Crites recently completed advance training in cardiac imaging at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She holds board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.

She earned her medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, and then completed an internal medicine residency and a cardiovascular disease fellowship at WVU Medicine. She also received a master's degree in Exercise Physiology at WVU.

Prior to completing training at UPMC, the Webster County native served as an assistant professor, section of cardiology, at WVU School of Medicine.

Dr. Crites specializes in cardiac imaging and non-invasive diagnostics such as echocardiogram, cardiac CT scan, cardiac MRI and nuclear stress test.
