Vandalia Health welcomes interventional cardiologist

Zachary Curtis, MD, has joined Vandalia Health’s team of cardiovascular specialists, bringing extensive experience in cardiology and specialized training in interventional procedures to his new role.
A native of West Virginia, Dr. Curtis has spent the past several years serving the state through his medical training and practice at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington. Most recently, he completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at Marshall University while also serving as an invasive, non-interventional cardiologist.
Dr. Curtis earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Trinity School of Medicine after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology at West Virginia University. He is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed by the West Virginia Board of Medicine.
Throughout his training and career, Dr. Curtis has been recognized for his clinical excellence, academic leadership and dedication to education. He served as Education Chief during his cardiology fellowship, was named Resident Teacher of the Year, and has mentored medical students since 2018. His research and case studies have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, presented at national conferences, and reflect a strong focus on real-world challenges in interventional cardiology, access to care in rural settings, and innovative solutions for high-risk or complex cardiac patients.

Dr. Curtis is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Heart Association, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and the Society for Vascular Medicine.
