Posted Date: 4/30/2024
Mon Health Medical Center is pleased to welcome Wes Deadrick, Dean Hatcher, and Patti Hodges as its newest board members.

Deadrick is originally from Petersburg, West Virginia and has lived in Morgantown for over 20 years. He serves as the Director of NASA’s Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Program in Fairmont. He is responsible for the leadership and technical direction of the IV&V Program and agency-wide strategy to provide the highest achievable levels of safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness for NASA’s most critical mission software.

“My motivation for serving on the Mon Health Medical Center Board stems from my passion to leverage over two decades of engineering and technology expertise gained from my tenure at NASA. As a proud native of West Virginia, coming from a small rural community, I have witnessed the pressing demand for comprehensive, high-quality healthcare services in our state firsthand, which is why I am committed to contributing to the advancement of healthcare accessibility and excellence in West Virginia,” said Deadrick. “By serving as a member of the Mon Health Medical Center Board, I aspire to actively support Mon Health in being at the forefront of healthcare provision in the mountain state and ensuring that Mon Health continues to positively impact the lives of individuals and communities across West Virginia.”

Hatcher is originally from Uniontown, Pennsylvania but has lived in Morgantown for the past 20 years. He is the former President of MedExpress Urgent Care and was responsible for growing the company from its original location in Morgantown’s Wharf District to over 350 locations in 35 states. He is currently the president of PeopleOne Health, which provides Direct Primary Care and a suite of services to self-insured employers.

“I am looking forward to utilizing my over 30 years of healthcare leadership experience to provide value to the Mon Health Medical Center management team and assist in their efforts to provide the community with world class care,” said Hatcher.

Hodges was born and raised in Fairmont but moved to Morgantown in 2018. She has been licensed as a Registered Nurse in West Virginia since 1975. Before retiring in December 2016, she was co-owner of a federal government contracting company, which developed and implemented compliance and risk management programs, technology-based systems, and other related processes to reduce cost and improve performance of her clients.

“As a registered nurse for nearly 50 years, I have always had a passion for the provision of quality healthcare,” said Hodges. “I worked at Mon Health Medical Center, formerly Mon General Hospital, many years ago as both a staff nurse and then in an administrative capacity. Mon Health is known for its quality healthcare, strong community service, and robust employee relations. I hope to be an active participant in ensuring that Mon Health continues to provide the highest level of quality care throughout the communities it serves.”

The Mon Health Medical Center Board acts as the hospital's governing body, guides the hospital's long-term goals and policies, and assists with strategic planning and decision-making.

Along with its new members, the current list of Mon Health Medical Center’s board members includes Kimberly Moyers as Chair, Natalie Stone as Vice Chair, Sam Chico III as Secretary and Treasurer, Randy Buzzo, Donald Robinson, Pat Esposito, Dr. Krystal Atkinson, David Goldberg, Dr. Shane Prettyman, Dr. Robert Hull, Pastor Junius Lewis, and Dr. William McBee.

“We are pleased to welcome our newest board members who undoubtably will make an impact to enhance the health of the communities we serve,” said Dr. Krystal Atkinson, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Nursing Officer of Mon Health Medical Center and Chief Nursing Executive of Mon Health System. “Each of their dedication to service and remarkable community-focused outlooks will make an invaluable addition to our board and hospital.”
