The Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary was founded in 1943 to serve the mission of giving back to the community through fundraising initiatives for Monongalia General Hospital.

The Auxiliary now has more than 500 active charter members, and has raised an excess of $2 million since the establishment of the organization.

“We are proud to honor the Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary for supporting the health of our community for 75 years,” said David Goldberg, President and CEO of Mon Health System. “Our members contribute countless hours of service to raise funds to sustain improvements for the patients, families and staff of Mon Health Medical Center.”

Each year the Auxiliary continues to provide for the hospital by hosting various fundraisers including The Ball of the Year, Restaurant Coupon Book, special sales and more. Additionally, all proceeds from the Mon Health Medical Center gift shop directly benefit patient care.

Volunteer services is an essential component to the Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary. There are volunteer opportunities for both adult and junior volunteers. Volunteer services are utilized in various locations throughout the hospital including the Family Birth Center, Emergency Department, Gift Shop and the main Reception Desk.

“Our Auxiliary and volunteer services play an integral role in day-to-day functions of Mon Health Medical Center,” Goldberg said. “These individuals are highly valued as they contribute to the success of operations, while helping our patients to feel the difference on a daily basis.”

The Auxiliary continues to seek members to foster the growth of Mon Health Medical Center. To learn more about the organization or volunteer opportunities visit: https://www.monhealth.com/main/auxiliary
