Vandalia Health North Announces Inaugural Heart to Heart Award Recipients

Heart to Heart Award recipients were selected at each health system from a pool of nominees, nominated by fellow employees.
From Davis Health System, Jessica Kerns-Galloway was selected as the Heart to Heart recipient. Kerns-Galloway is a Mother-Baby Care Coordinator, Peer Recovery Support Specialist, Certified Birth Doula, and Behavioral Health Technician at Davis Medical Center.
Jessica Kerns is recognized for the attention she gives her patients and her community as evidenced by the nominations from her peers. “She is a lifeline for mothers in need, especially those with addiction.” “She coordinates the Mommy and Me Donation Closet, and community Narcan training events. And in her free time, she’s delivering food to the homeless, volunteering with kids, and working with shelters and churches to serve others.”
From Mon Health System, Donald Harmon was selected as the Heart to Heart recipient. Harmon is an Inpatient Physical Therapist and Clinical Instructor at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital.
Nominations from his coworkers said, “Donald is very compassionate about his work and genuinely cares about his patients.” Others said, “Donald goes out of his way to provide the necessary equipment for patients, even after they’re discharged. He’s very involved in his church and even leads prayer groups at the hospital when families need support.”
