Mon Health Urologists Designated as Urolift® Center of Excellence

Mon Health System is proud to announce that Dr. Jaschar Shakuri-Rad has been designated as a UroLift® Center of Excellence. The award is presented by NeoTract, a wholly owned subsidiary of Teleflex Incorporated, focused on addressing unmet needs in the field of urology.

The UroLift® Center of Excellence designation recognizes that Dr. Shakuri-Rad has achieved a high level of training and experience with the UroLift® System, a minimally invasive technology for treating lower urinary tract symptoms due to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), also known as enlarged prostate.

In receiving this designation, Dr. Shakuri-Rad has demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering excellent patient outcomes and experiences at Mon Health Urology. “Dr. Jaschar Shakuri-Rad has earned the UroLift® Center of Excellence designation for his dedication to improving the lives of men who previously suffered from BPH symptoms and delivering superior patient outcomes with the UroLift® System treatment,” said Dave Amerson, president of the Teleflex Interventional Urology business unit.

Dr. Shakuri-Rad’s specialties are general urology and robotic surgery, as well as minimally invasive procedures. As a former student of Parkersburg High School in West Virginia, he enjoyed building robots as a child and took that passion into his career where he now specializes in advanced robotic surgery. “At Mon Health, we pride ourselves for being a community health system and providing best-in-class care,” said Dr. Shakuri-Rad. “I am both honored and grateful to receive the UroLift® Center of Excellence designation and look forward to bringing more advanced treatments like this to my patients.”

Mon Health Medical Center recently achieved accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation. This accreditation distinguishes Mon Health Medical Center from other facilities by providing the highest quality of care to patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation. In addition to this achievement, Dr. Jaschar Shakuri-Rad was also recognized by Surgical Review Corporation as a Master Surgeon and Surgeon of Excellence.
