Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital Registered Nurse Receives DAISY Award

Posted Date: 12/26/2024
Vandalia Health’s Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital is proud to honor Jessica Myers, RN, as the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses recipient.

The DAISY Award is awarded to nurses biannually at the hospital and is a part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize and thank nurses for the care and kindness they provide. Nominations are sent in by patients, families and coworkers and compiled to award selected recipients.

A three-year employee at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital, Myers serves as Program Manager for the hospital’s Recovery Care Program.

“It is an honor to be selected to receive the DAISY award. I would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the patient who took the time to nominate me,” Myers said. “As nurses we often encounter our patients in some of their toughest hardships. Compassion and empathy seem so little to give but can make a lasting impact. It’s been a rewarding experience to work alongside the recovery team at Preston Memorial and witness resilience, change and growth in our patients.”

"It is a privilege to recognize one of our exceptional nurses with a DAISY Award," said Jennifer Nestor, Chief Nursing Officer at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital. "Jessica exemplifies the dedication our nurses bring to their work every day, and we are proud of the compassionate care she provides to our patients."

Nurses can be nominated for the DAISY Award by anyone who has been affected by their care – patients, family members, other nurses, physicians, other clinicians, and staff – anyone who has experienced or observed extraordinary, compassionate care.
