Posted Date: 11/11/2024
Vandalia Health’s Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital named Respiratory Therapist Angie Kisner the 2024 recipient of its first PHIL Award. The annual award is part of The FACES Foundation's program to recognize exemplary respiratory care.
The PHIL Award is the only nationally recognized hospital-based program that honors outstanding respiratory therapists, nominated by patients, their family members, and other caregivers.
Kisner, a nine-year employee of Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital, serves in both inpatient and outpatient respiratory services. She was nominated by a patient who wrote that she “was very kind and professional for my procedures” and “did an excellent job of making me feel comfortable during my stress test.”
“At Mon Health, our mission is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care, and we are proud to celebrate our exceptional respiratory therapists,” said Jennifer Nestor, Chief Nursing Officer at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital. “Ms. Kisner embodies our commitment to seeing the person over the patient, and we appreciate her dedication and years of service to our hospital. The PHIL Award is a meaningful way to show our respiratory therapists how much we value their work and the impact they make in our patients' lives.”
The FACES Foundation is a Michigan-based national nonprofit organization, founded in 2006 by Sharman Lamka in memory of her husband Philip C. Lamka. Phil died as a result of complications from an Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). The mission of The FACES Foundation is to acknowledge and promote professional excellence in the education and care of patients with life-threatening lung diseases.
