Mussano will provide education on fetal development, nutrition and exercise, routine prenatal testing, and more. In addition, Mussano will provide childbirth preparation, lactation support, and connect families to support services within their communities based on their individual needs.
“If you’re pregnant, my role is to be the extra hand you need to navigate a healthy pregnancy and to guide you through your postpartum experience,” said Mussano.
While Mon Health’s P3 Program has been primarily based in Morgantown, Mussano will be expanding the care of the program through her work providing prenatal and postpartum care services to families close to home in Weston.
One in 5 mothers and one in 10 partners will experience a perinatal mood disorder such as depression and anxiety during pregnancy and up to a year after giving birth. Mon Health’s P3 Program combats these statistics by offering postpartum support services to new families.
Through Mon Health’s P3 Program, mothers are screened before, during, and after pregnancy for any indication of anxiety, depression, or mood disorder. This allows for early detection and management of symptoms, giving the P3 team an opportunity to connect with mothers early on and provide continuous support throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey.
