Vandalia Health Mon Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital recognizes Poling with DAISY nursing award

Vandalia Health Mon Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital proudly announces Kendra Poling, RN, as a recipient of the prestigious DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that honors the skillful and compassionate care nurses provide every day. Poling, known by her colleagues and patients for her dedication and kindness, was nominated for her commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care in a welcoming, community-focused environment.

“This is such an honor for me as a nurse,” Poling said. “I love my job and helping our patients regain their health is what nursing is all about. Being able to do it at a small, friendly hospital with a family atmosphere is extra special for me.”

The DAISY Award was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away from complications of an autoimmune disease. His family created the award to honor the extraordinary care nurses provide and to recognize the profound impact they have on patients and their loved ones.

At Mon Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, DAISY Award recipients are selected throughout the year from nominations submitted by patients, families and colleagues.
