Mon Health System - WVJC Partnership

Mon Health System and West Virginia Junior College have partnered to create the WVJC School of Nursing at Mon Health, serving the healthcare needs of North Central West Virginia. This collaboration brings together two of Morgantown’s trusted institutions to provide a high level of care for area residents.

Mon Health System exists as an integrated network of hospitals, physician clinics, and outpatient centers. It includes six hospitals – Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown; Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood; Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston; Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital in White Hall; affiliate, Grafton City Hospital in Grafton; and Highland-Clarksburg Hospital in Clarksburg.

West Virginia Junior College Morgantown is one of three WVJC residential campuses located in West Virginia, with the other two in Bridgeport and Charleston. The colleges offer Associate Degrees in Nursing, Allied Health, Business, and Information Technology. In 2013, WVJC began offering education training through an online platform.

Direct Admission - Mon Health Scholars Program

WVJC School of Nursing at Mon Health employs a direct admission option so incoming students can immediately start in the nursing program when offered and will not be required to take pre-nursing classes.

The Mon Health Scholars Program provides WVJC School of Nursing students with financial resources for tuition, books, and academic fees. Nursing students will complete their didactic coursework through WVJC’s online platform and satisfy most of their lab and clinical rotations within the Mon Health network.

The online component of the WVJC School of Nursing at Mon Health offers students some flexibility and convenience so they can balance life and college simultaneously. This online program also creates opportunities through the regional Mon Health System to accept students who reside near their facilities.

Graduates will be conferred an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCELX-RN)* and are prepared to begin employment through the Mon Health network or other healthcare facilities.

RN to BSN Through WVJC Online

WVJC Online is excited to offer a 12-month online RN to BSN program through the WVJC School of Nursing, allowing students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Upon passing the NCLEX-RN exam, RNs can begin their nursing careers while simultaneously earning their BSN. This program is designed for registered nurses (RNs) with an associate degree in nursing (ADN) who want to advance their careers.

WVJC ADN graduates auto-qualify for the BSN Pathway Scholarship* upon being accepted into the program. Students who graduate from WVJC with their ADN and immediately continue to the RN to BSN program could have their BSN in less than three years!
