Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Wraps Up Holiday Giving Season

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital employees continued their yearly holiday giving tradition by providing donations to the Salvation Army, coordinating the local Giving Tree, and supporting the annual Lewis County Christmas Dinner.

Hospital staff sponsored ten children for the Salvation Army Angel Trees program. The program helps provide gifts for children around the country each year during the holiday season.

The Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Chemotherapy/Infusion Center staff created the annual Giving Tree, located in front of the hospital. Staff and community members were able to donate or take items they need from the tree such as hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and other warm items. Over 200 items were provided this year.

Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital also supported the annual Lewis County Christmas Dinner. Connie Riffle, Weston Orthopedic staff member, organized the dinner where over 700 meals were provided to the community.

“We would like to thank all of our staff who graciously contributed or volunteered to our efforts to give back this holiday season,” said Kevin Stalnaker, Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. “Each year, we are always grateful to bring holiday cheer and support the organizations who provide such vital services to our local community.”

Additionally, Mon Health System held its 2022 United Way Day of Giving earlier this month. This year’s campaign raised over $54,000 total for United Way of Gilmer, Lewis & Upshur Counties, United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties, and Tygart Valley United Way. The United Way plays a vital role in helping the community, focusing on health, education, and financial stability.
