Intermed Labs and Vandalia Health advance real-time cardiac communication technology to improve heart attack response

Intermed Labs, a medtech venture studio specializing in healthcare innovation commercialization, announced that it has advanced a new physician-led technology developed in collaboration with Marc Dotson, DO, of Vandalia Health, to its final prototype stage, marking a significant milestone toward commercialization.

Designed to improve communication during suspected heart attacks, the technology enables emergency medical services (EMS), emergency departments, and on-call cardiologists to securely share critical patient information before the patient arrives at the hospital. The platform delivers field electrocardiograms (ECGs), ambulance location, estimated arrival time, and clinical updates through a real-time mobile workflow, giving care teams greater visibility during one of healthcare's most time-sensitive emergencies.

Heart attacks require rapid clinical decision-making, yet hospitals often receive fragmented or delayed information from the field. These communication gaps can slow specialist review, delay cardiac catheterization lab preparation, and reduce valuable treatment time when every minute can impact patient outcomes.

By connecting first responders and hospital teams before arrival, the technology is designed to support faster clinical awareness, earlier care coordination, and improved operational readiness.
